Chagrin Valley Recreation Center has established these Guidelines, Rules, and Regulations for the safety and well-being of members, guests, and staff.
Membership
• All members must meet membership requirements and possess a current membership card in order to use any of the facilities or grounds.
• Membership cards are NOT transferable.
• There will be no more than two adults (21 years or older) per "family" membership.
• Guests must be accompanied by a member and pay the guest fee to use the Rec.
• Only members will be eligible for instruction and private lessons.
• Lost membership card must be replaced as authorized by the cashier.
• Children under 10 years old must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
General Facility Usage
• CVRC facility, including equipment and grounds must be treated with respect and used properly at all times.
• All bicycles must be parked on the bike racks provided.
• No Littering. Please use trash containers provided.
• CVRC Staff members, at any time, have the right to remove an individual from the facility for any dangerous or disruptive behavior or any behavior contrary to the rules.
Swimming
• Members must wear proper swimming attire to enter the pool area. All persons using the pools are encouraged to shower before entering the water.
• NO running, pushing, or reckless play on the pool decks or in the water.
• Safety tests are required for children to swim in deep water without adult supervision.
• Stay off safety lines.
• No diving in less than 5 feet of water.
• No food, pop, gum, or smoking will be permitted in the pool area, except in the grassy area of the Wading Pool.
• No toys or artificial flotation devices will be permitted in the pools unless authorized by the Pool Director. This includes water wings, bathing suits with built in flotation, and any similar flotation device.
• Rest periods will be called on a regular basis. Only those eighteen years of age and older will be permitted to swim during rest periods.
• On crowded days, swimmers not needing to swim in the Intermediate Pool may be asked to swim in the Senior Pool.
• In event of overcrowding which could present a safety hazard, Rec Management reserves the right to temporarily close entrance to the Pools for Open Swim until such condition is alleviated.
• If the Pools close due to severe weather, members must leave pool areas immediately.
Senior Pool (depth 4 ft. to 9 ft. / 50x100 ft. / 213,000 gallons)
• This pool and area is intended for members over the age of 10.
• Children using the deep end must pass a safety test or must be closely supervised by an adult.
• There will be no open swimming during swim lessons.
• Senior pool is closed for "open" swimming during swim meets. Meet schedules will be posted.
• Rest periods will be called on a regular basis. Only those eighteen years of age and older will be permitted to swim during rest periods.
• Food, pop, or gum is not permitted in the pool area.
Intermediate Pool (depth 1.5 ft. to 5 ft. / 40x60 ft. / 66,000 gallons)
• This pool and area is intended for members under the age of 11 and those who are responsible for them.
• Children using the deep end must pass a safety test or must be closely supervised by an adult.
• Toys other than floatation devices are allowed in the pool as long as they are safe and do not disrupt others.
• There will be no open swimming during swim lessons.
• Rest periods will be called on a regular basis. Only those eighteen years of age and older will be permitted to swim during rest periods.
• Food, pop, or gum is not permitted in the pool area.
Wading Pool (depth .5 ft. to 2 ft. / 20x40 ft. / 3200 gallons)
• The Recreation Center Lifeguards do not directly supervise this pool so all swimmers SWIM AT THEIR OWN RISK.
• This pool and area is intended for members under the age of 7, and parents or caregivers.
• All those using the pool must be accompanied by an adult and be supervised at all times.
• Toys other than floatation devices are allowed in the pool as long as they are safe and do not disrupt others.
• Food, pop, or gum will not be permitted in the pool area, except on the grassy area.
Tennis Courts
• The Rec Center reserves the right to schedule the use of the courts during regular program instruction hours.
• Loud, abusive, or profane language, racket throwing, or hitting tennis balls indiscriminately is prohibited.
• Proper tennis footwear is required.
• Observe General Etiquette While On the Courts - Always wait until a point is over before walking behind a court. - Always wait until a point is completed to retrieve your ball from another court. - Please report any misuse of these courts to the Chagrin Falls Schools or Recreation Center.
