In an effort to meet the ever increasing demand for quality instruction and varied lifestyles of our membership, CVRC is now offering three categories of tennis development. Members may register for ONE PER CHILD ONLY from the following categories.

Beginner Clinics provide a total of 4 hours of solid instruction. Choose between a two week session, 4 days per week (Sessions A - D), or a four week session, 2 days per week (Sessions E & F). Members may register for a second Clinic, if available once Registration is complete, for a fee. (One session per child included with membership)

"Quick Start" is a new USTA sanctioned pilot program designed to make learning and playing the game easier for kids ten and under by making it "kid-sized" i.e., employing smaller courts and racquets, lower nets, less bouncy balls and modified scoring. Each hour of classtime consists of a 1/2 hour of instruction followed by a 1/2 hour of "kid-sized" matchplay. Choose from "Quick Start 1" (6-8 year olds) and "Quick Start 2" (9 & 10 year olds). Each class is 5 weeks, 2 days per week for a total of 10 hours.

Tennis Teams offer kids the chance to develop a love for the game and hone their skills by competitive matchplay. Both tennis teams meet 2 days per week for 8 weeks for a total of 16 hours. In order to accommodate as many dedicated players as possible, PLEASE commit to attending at least 75% of the scheduled practice times. The Advanced Tennis Team also has local competitive matchplay on Fridays. Prior approval by the head tennis coach is required in order to register for the advanced team.

Intermediate Tennis Team
This program is designed for kids 11+ years old who have accomplished basic rallying skills. Focus is on match play with minimal instruction. This player needs to be able to serve the ball into the court and sustain a short rally.

Advanced Tennis Team
This player needs to be able to play and keep score independently and should have prior matchplay experience. Pre-approval is required either by recommendation from last year's coach, Rob or by promotion from Rob from the Intermediate tennis team. All Advanced tennis team members must also register with the USTA which costs an additional $24.00 paid directly to the USTA. This can be done online or by phone. (Directions will be provided at registration.)

Private Tennis Lessons
Private Lessons are offered for a fee on a limited basis, subject to instructor and court availability. Contact the Tennis Director for more information.

Open Play
Tennis courts are available for open play on weekends and weekdays in June & July after 4 pm. Courts are lit until approximately 10 pm. Proper footwear must be worn on the courts.
