The unique Gateway methodology incorporates fun drills and emphasizes the translation of athletic skills (throwing and catching techniques, hand-eye skill, footwork, etc.) into the game of lacrosse. Campers will need a mouth guard and a lacrosse stick.

This camp is designed for players with some previous experience and will be staffed by local college lacrosse players with a camper:staff ratio of 8:1. Gateway’s method of teaching lacrosse is unique. We incorporate an understanding of athletic skills (throwing and catching techniques, hand-eye skill,footwork, etc.) and apply them to lacrosse. We teach concepts such as Setting a pick, Zone D, Spacing, and Communication. You will develop an athletic IQ that will be transferable to all sports while learning the game of lacrosse. Expect soccer balls, frisbees, skip ropes and agility ladders. Having fun is essential and character development is a constant theme. Swimming at “the Rec” at lunchtime is included (full-day only). Girls equipment needed: stick, goggles, mouth guard. Boys equipment needed: helmet, shoulder pads, elbow pads,gloves, mouth guard, stick.
